BARTENDER FOR THE MONTH OF
This page was last updated on: December 4, 2010
There is a new Irish bar downtown in the old O'Neil's building formerly known as Harry Buffalo next to Aeros Stadium on Main St. It is called The Barley House. The Geezers paid a visit there on Wednesday, Oct 18. The Barley House was voted in the previous month. The place is massive with high ceilings and a second floor that is railed above like a loft. Some of the original architecture remainis from O'Neil's. There is a large rectangular bar straight ahead as you walk in with tables to the right. There is also a second bar in a side room to the left of the main bar. The Happy Hour there consists of hal-price drink prices form 4-6. On Wednesdays it is Mini-Nite, and there are mini burgers available along with mini beers for $1 each. There are many servers and bartenders, and we were taken care of quite nicely by some of them. But as luck would have it a bartender by the name of Angela happened to end up serving the Geezers. Angela had been on vacation in Florida for two weeks, and our choice of the evening she returned was just a stroke of luck. She was very friendly, and pleasant, and competent. Joebo just happened to have his camera with him and he asked Angela if he could take her picture for the website. She not only accomdated us in that respect, but she came out from behind the bar to make it easier on us. Even though she was busy she let us take a number of photos in different poses and also with some of the guys. We want to thank her, and her co-workers for that. If you take a look to the left you may be able to see why we asked her. The picutures came out so well we decided to make Angel a Bartender of The Month for November. Do you think she still has that tan?
