BARTENDER OF THE MONTH FOR
DECEMBER 2006
SHAMINKA
Shaminka, our Bartender of the month for December comes to us from the Southwest Florida city of North Port. She is the daytime bartender at Brewski's located at 12500 US 41, known as the Tamiami Trail, about 15 miles north of Punta Gorda, the landing spot of Hurricane Charlie in 2004. Brewski's Shaminka is a much more pleasant sight than Hurricane Charlie. She has been the day bartender for the last four months and she says that she is a Florida transplant from Michigan. She has to be the nicest thing ever to come out of Michigan! Shaminka enjoys motorcycles, going to the beach, and is very active playing soccer with her 5-year-old daughter. I found her to be very pleasant, and we welcome her to the Geezers website. Shaminka asked me why I chose her to be our Bartender of the month for Decmeber. Maybe it is the way she draws a draft? No, that isn't it. Maybe the answer is that I didn't see her until November? Well, let's jsut keep her guessing as we look at the pictures.
Along with our Bartender of the Month, I had the pleasure of meeting Mariah. Mariah is the bar manager for Brewski's and when I asked her what she liked to do she said that she enjoys working out at the gym. She says that her job at the bar doesn't not allow her much time for other things. We will have some pictures of Mariah on the next page along with more of Shaminka.

BREWSKI'S - Brewski's is open 7 days a week, Monday thru Saturday 11:00 AM til 2:00 AM. and Sunday noon til 2:00 AM. Brewski's is a full service Florida bar with an every day special from 5 to 7 PM featuring well drinks 2 for 1, and $1 draft beer. Brewski's also features wings, french fries, shrimp, burgers, and Philly steak sandwiches. To keep in the Florida tradition they have also added an outside Tiki Bar for those nice Florida nights.
During Sunday football games they have a special of 10 Wings and a bucket of 5 beers for just $13. Brewski's also features Karoake Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 PM til closing . And yes, I have participated myself and they still let me come back!
UPCOMING EVENTS: - Brewski's will have their annual Chile cook off in February. The event normally brings in around 30 contestants. They are also planning a Grand Opening for the outside Patio Bar. This will occur sometime after the first of the year depending on the weather. Be sure to stop by and see Shaminka and check on when these events will be held. If you are traveling through Soutwest Florida and want a nice non-tourist place to have a drink and talk to the locals this is the place to stop. Nice Bartendes, good munchies, down to earth prices, and a lot of sunshine.
