GEEZERS BARTENDER OF THE MONTH FOR
APRIL 2007
We met Michelle at Mama's Greek Cuisine in Tarpon Springs, Florida during our Superbowl trip in early February of 2007. She is the bartender at the deck bar outside. Tarpon Springs is where the sponge docks are located. There are countless shops along the street that speciaizel in sponges. All shapes, sizes, and colors. We have been making a stop there the last couple of years to have a Gyro at another Greek restaurant. On that particular day we arrived before noon so we were killing time before we were ready to eat. The group consisted of Dougie, Garo Jimbo, Joebo, and Swish. Michelle is originally from Muncie, Indiana. She was very friendly, efficient, and cute. Unfortunately this was the only picture that she agreed to let us take at that time. However, we have been back since that first time, and she said that she checked out our website. So knowing that we are on the up-and-up she agreed to take more pictures which we now have posted on the next page. Just click on her picture on this page to go there. We were so impressed with Michelle that we made her our Bartender of The Month for April. ABOUT MAMA'S GREEK CUISINE- In 1961 John Koursiotis landed on the docks of Tarpon Springs from Greece to dive for the sponges in nearby waters. Meanwhile, his wife Maria opened a Greek restaurant, using culinary skills brought from the old country. The authentic Greek cuisine is served up in a rich cultural setting enhanced by orders of flaming Saganaki cheese (Pictured), beautiful Mediterranean wall murals, and live ethnic music on weekend evenings. Soups, salads and sandwiches round out the menu. Fresh caught squid and octopus are served. You will find a full bar. Smoking is permitted on the outside deck where seating is also available.
