ST. PATRICK'S DAY 2013
The Geezers were out again on Sunday, March 17, to celebrate St. Patrick's Day at The Grille on Waterloo. Some of us also celebrated it on Friday, March 15th at Kevin O'Bryan's with Callahan & O'Connor, and we met for our Geezers Nite Out to celebrate it at The Tilted Kilt with the Kilt Girls in No Canton on March 13.
Below are pictures taken at all three of those events.

This is LYNAE. She was
one of our bartenders at
The Tilted Kilt for our
meeting on March 13.Here we have S. B. posing with LYNAE, and some of
the other Kilt Girls. He told them he was celebrating
his B-Day even tho it was
in January. And here are some of
the other Kilt Girls who
 just happened to be
walking by when I had
the camera out. Now we switch to
Friday, March 13 when
SPIKE, R. B., and I were
down at Kevin O'Bryan's
watching and listening to
the best local Irish band CALLAHAN & O'CONNOR. Also in the band is one of
the finest local singers
and musicians, RITCH UNDERWOOD. He is most noted for the Kent State Measles, and Monopoly. And here is SPIKE. He
gave me a call Friday
morning, and told me
where he was, and
TOLD me to Come On
Down. He had to twist
my arm, but I DID!Here is the band
performing one of their
most controversial Irish
tunes. Leading the way
is lead singer PAUL CALLAHAN, really getting
into it. The song is so
racy I can't even publish
the title. And here is a celebrity
guest singer, IRENE. If
you have ever heard a
number of Irish bands
you will remember her
from the great IIRENE &
The IRISHMEN. She was
very popular down at Tangier's in Akron in the Cabaret Room. it was
great to hear her.We were pleased to see
a friend of The Geezers,
and the Phantom Band, KARLA. She works at Goodyear and that is
where we got to know
her. It was good to see
her. And here is my good
friend RITCH
UNDERWOOD, dressed
for the occasion with
R. B., not dressed for
the occasion. R. B. came
from work, and Ritch
played in the band. We
have mutual friends from
Kent bands. And now it is March 17
at The GRILLE on
Waterloo. They were
offering a Free breakfast starting at 9:00AM. Here
is a pic of my plate. Here is SPIKE and MR. LOBBER also enjoying
the breakfast. We were
joking that other than the
Egss we didn't know
what it was, but we
didn't question it since
it was FREE!This is AMY, one of the bartenders for the day.
Amy was here when
this place was formerly
The TAP HOUSE.And here we have AMY
again with RUSS, Owner, Cook, and Bottle Washer
of the new GRILLE on Waterloo. Russ opened
one of the first
SCORCHERS in the
Akron area in the same location many moons
ago. This is a picture of my (JOEBO) glass. It was a plastic glass with
colored flashing lights
on the base. Pretty cool.KRISKO joined us for a
few hours. She was
heading West to meet her Sunday group in Fairlawn.
She was dressed for St. Patty's Day that just
happened to be on a
Sunday this year.And here is S. B.
(Skinny Boy) who joined
us LATE. However,
somebody had to do it.
The Geezers' had their
money on ME. Ha!This is another one of
the bartenders, APRIL.
But she was not just ONE
of the bartenders. April
was a bartender at the
first Scorchers that RUSS opened. A few of the Goodyear guys got to
know her quite well.
Some of us are going to
go back to see her
sometime. We want to thank these
two lovelies for taking the
time to pose for a picture.
I think they work for
WKDD who was there for
a few hours passing out prizes. And here is one of my (JOEBO) Alfred
Hitchcock moments.
I take the pictures, but
hate to be in them! Here is a guy who was
nice enough to pose for a picture. However, this
picture does not tell the
whole story. He was
really lit up. And I don't
mean by the green beer. Everything you see green
on him was flashing. It
was not picked up by
the camera. Here is another St. Patty's
Day customer enjoying the day. He was nice enough
to let me take a pic. These three girls were
very kind to the Geezer
letting me take a picture of them. They were having a good time. One of them was a little spunky and wanted to try
on my St. Patty's Day hat.
She wears it better! Here is our Entertainment Director R. B. reluctantly wearing the wig I bought
for St. Patty's Day fresh
out of the bag. I got it for anyone that wanted it. We thought R. B. NEEDED it!SPIKE ended up with the
green wig since he left
his in the car. It has seen
too many years. I'm not saying that SPIKE
had too much to drink,
but when he first put the
wig on he was wearing
it a little LOW! Our Class Clown (R. B.)
was at it again. He has a
habit of writing love notes
to the bartenders (Female) indicating that they came
from someone else.
